We have specific and focused Training Programs for for up to 5 Races covering 3 Seasons over the course of an 8 Month period which makes up our Year. We also have two unique Extended programs that overlaps two seasons and also a Triple Crown that expands the entire 42 weeks of training.

Since the Race Registration fees are NOT included with the training programs, you can choose whatever race you wish to train for – as long as it fits within the particular Season, plus or minus a week or two.

A Building Progression

We have designed the entire year to slowly build in overall progression in regards to training, intensity, technical information (clinics) and workouts. This is for example, why we do not have a Beginner Program for the Summer Season, our last. It’s also why we do not do Track workouts in the Winter Season, our first, nor have the “Running 101” clinic at the start of Summer. The Spring Season builds on the Winter, and the Summer builds on the Spring.

Winter 2016 Season

There are two (2) unique training programs that operate during the Winter Season between October and January.

A 12 week Half Marathon Training Program for the Carlsbad Half Marathon. Perfect for the runner looking to training and complete the Carlsbad Half Marathon. The scheduled race is:

An extended 20 week Half Marathon Training Program for the San Diego Half Marathon. Longer than common Half Marathon Training programs, it’s perfect for those looking to train for their first Half Marathon on a more gradual pace – especially through the cool winter months. The scheduled race is:

Spring 2017 Season

There is one (1) unique training program that operates during the Spring Season from January to June.

An 18 Week Training Program for the San Diego Rock n Roll Half or Full Marathons, including the San Diego Half and/or La Jolla Half Marathon as optional races.

The 18 week schedule includes training for the RnR HALF or FULL marathons – you choose. Also during this training, we run the La Jolla Half Marathon* as an interim race but you do not have to run it if you don’t want to.

* The La Jolla Half marathon race is optional for those in the Rock n Roll Program. Many will simply focus on a solid 18week Half or Full Training regime only. Similarly, If you are starting your first training program during this Spring Season, then the La Jolla Half Marathon will likely come too quickly for you.

Summer 2017 Season

There is one (1) unique training program that operates during the Summer Season from June to August.

An 11 week Half Marathon Training Program for the America’s Finest City Half Marathon. Perfect for runners who are looking to train specifically for the AFC Half.

*NOTE: If you are signing up for the AFC Half Training Program only, there is no “Beginner – Run/Walk” program.  Those with NO running experience should review their experience and current fitness levels before joining.  This is different than the Winter Carlsbad Half and Spring RnR Half Marathon programs which do have a beginner – run/walk component with it.

Multiple Training Seasons

Multiple training seasons span more than one season. They are designed for those who want to make the committment of a longer training session, and save money at the same time as they are considerable cheaper than doing each of the single season programs.

An extended 32 week training program for both the Carlsbad Half and Rock n Roll Half (or Full) Marathons. You have the option to also do La Jolla Half Marathon. This is the perfect program if you are a newer runner and wish to do your first Full Marathon. The scheduled races are:

This is the crown jewel! An all-out ultra-extended 43 week training program for all three major half marathon races making up the “Triple Crown” including the Carlsbad Half, La Jolla Half and AFC Half Marathons. You also have the option to do SD Half and Rock n Roll Half (or Full) marathons as well. Basically, you’re in the club for 8 months straight and you can choose your races. This is the perfect program if you are a newer runner and wish to do your first Triple Crown race series, or if you are a seasoned runner who just loves to keep on training and racing!! The scheduled races are:
