Thanks so much for all your dedication and coaching!  I was able to take 18 minutes off my fastest half marathon time.  I've only ever trained by myself before this, and I think having the group really made me push myself to a new level.

Running Program Overview

The VAVi Running Club “TVRC” is an organized Full Marathon, Half Marathon Training Program.

  • We train for specific races (Carlsbad in January, La Jolla Half in April and the Rock n Roll in June) but many just join to run with friends - and do not partake in the races.
  • ALL Runners welcome: Beginners (Run/Walkers), Intermediate, Advanced.
  • 13, 18 & 32 weeks of organized training with runs, clinics, social events, etc.

1. Half Marathon Training Program

13 Week Training Program for the La Jolla Half Marathon, Starts on 1/27/09, ends 4/26/09

NOTE: Because the The LJ Half Marathon Training Program is piggybacked on the Full Marathon program, it is designed for runners that have some running experience.  Those with NO running experience should review their experience and current fitness levels before joining.  This is different than the Winter Carlsbad Half Marathon program.

3. Full Marathon Training Program

18 Week Training Program for the Rock 'n' Roll Full Marathon.  Starts on 01/27/09, Ends 5/31/09

Dual Season Extended Training Program (Winter Only)

Is your goal to run a full marathon? Is a traditional 18 week training program not long enough for you? Do you want the extra assurance of sufficient and injury-free training to complete a Full Marathon? Or, do you just love the TVRC running club so much that you want to just keep joining? The Team VAVi Running Club (TVRC) has a program for you!

Team VAVi Running Club has designed a special dual-season training program getting you 32 weeks of training towards the "grand daddy" Rock 'n' Roll Marathon with 2 major local running races in between. The program is designed around the two major San Diego marathons (Carlsbad and Rock 'n' Roll).

NOTE: The Dual Season Program is only available to start
in the Fall/Winter Season (October)
